Opportunity Malaysia. US Mission to Malaysia.

First U.S.-Malaysian Partnership MBA

Alabama-based Troy State University announced a partnership with a local private college--INTI College--to offer executive MBA programs in Malaysia.

The executive MBA program, which will take 1 1/2 years to complete, will be taught by 9 local faculty members and 7 from Troy State University, who will also also visit the Malaysian campus from time to time. The first class of 25 students is scheduled for September, 2002. The program will be offered through INTI College's corporate training and post-graduate education arm, INTI Management Services Sdn Bhd, in three Malaysian cities: Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Kuching.

INTI College (www.intimal.edu.my) is the largest private college in Malaysia with a network of five campuses throughout the country and a student population of close to 13,000. In addition, the college has branches in Beijing, China; Bangkok, Thailand; and Jakarta, Indonesia and has franchised its programs to institutions in Vietnam and Hong Kong. It was established in 1986 and was listed in the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange, under INTI Universal Holdings Bhd in 1996. The college has the largest American degree program (ADP) in Malalysia where students enrolled in the ADP program complete the first two years of their bachelor's degree program in Malaysia before tranferring to a U.S. university or college to complete their degree.

INTI Management Services Sdn Bhd (www.inti-kit.com) was established in 1994 as a fully-owned subsidiary of INTI Universal Holdings Bhd. The company provides corporate training, consultancy services, and organizes international conferences and seminars. The executive MBA program will be the first American post-graduate program that INTI Management Services ("IMS") will be offering. IMS is presently offering British MBA programs through the University of Hull and Heriot-Watt University. England.
